Look A Little Familiar
The video we watched today reveals the horror behind the Armenian Genocide by the Young Turks. In the first fifteen seconds of this video, the narrator states that this Genocide is still being denied by the Ottoman Turks today. To this day, the Turks deny the intent or reason as to why they decided to murder by the masses over one million people(half the population). There are two questions that are asked by the narrator at the end of the story, How was is possible for a massacure of such epic proportions to take place? I think that part of the reason that the Genocide is forgotten is because of two reasons, first and most importantly, the Holocaust happened after the Armenian Genocide so everyone thinks about that one. Second Turkey isnt considered the Ottoman Empire anymore and so we think of them as two different societies, when in reality they are not.
